Happy Easter from Hongkong
Spent the Easter holidays with my family in HongKong and tried to spot some camera goodies. The weather was really cool and I enjoyed browsing so many books and camera lens. Below are some of my shots from HongKong using my new Tamron AF 18-200mm lens.

Knight is a british photographer and director in SHOWstudio.com. I first saw his work from Lady Gaga’s Vanity Fair issue but I failed to grab one due to limited stocks. Since then I’ve researched about him in the internet (yes, THANK YOU internet) and found him, again, relevant with Alexander McQueen.
I admire his work because everything is so flawless and light. His photography style is so amazing that everything in his picture feels heavenly or light (whoops I said it again but yeah, light!) like a feather. Plus he was actually commissioned by Lady Gaga to do some of her documentary videos/ stage videos. Plus points to the Monster Queen for being so good in recruiting creative minds! Check out his portfolio by clicking Knight’s name!

I used Unipin ink for the line art and Photoshop CS5 for my coloring. A lot of you asked me if I use vector but unfortunately all line arts are made by hand. I actually prefer using the old school manga style, inking with a light box, to preserve the ink pressure. :)
Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
I literally cried when I heard that The Metropolitan Museum of Art was going to release a book about their exhibit for the late Alexander McQueen. I kept on updating local bookstores about when it was going to be released and poof! it came out late last year!
Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty was priced around 2k locally (I bought mine in Fullybooked) and 31$ in Amazon. Inside, you’ll see run way shots, interviews from Alexander’s colleagues and a lot of gorgeous pictures from his collection. Unfortunately it doesn’t really tell about the designer’s in depth biography but it focuses more on his creative career. Everything was laid down in a historical pattern of his inspirations and the results of his idea. So it’s basically, idea & resulting dress/material per collection.
Quotes from Alexander’s past interviews were also shown per collection. These may be short words but they are precise enough to show you how focused and creative the designer is. Therefore I really recommend this to fashion lovers and artists for visual inspiration! Though there weren’t any bonus freebies from the book, I guess the pictures were the main prize!
